Anna Sorochak

February 25, 1925 — May 18, 2013

ANNA SOROCHAK (nee Mazur) passed away May 18, 2013. She is survived by three daughters: Steffa Schutyak of Truskavets, Ukraine, Olga Barth of Columbus, OH and Nadia (Allen) Buskey of Westlake, OH; grandchildren Volodya, Natalia, Megan, Alex, Emerson, Michael and Miles; four great-grandchildren and numerous family and friends in both the United States and Ukraine. She is preceded in death by her loving husband Onufry Sorochak, her parents Rosalia and Michael Mazur, her brothers Stephan and Ivan Mazur and her son-in-law Ron Barth. She was born in Staryava, Ukraine in 1925 and under the Soviet regime survived exile to Siberia, where she spent 20 years working in coal mines. She immigrated to Cleveland, OH in 1967 and worked at Kirkwood Industries for 20 years. Anna was an active member of St. Vladimir Ukrainian Orthodox Cathedral in Parma, OH, where she was an enthusiastic participant of both the 60+ club and the pyrohy group. She will be dearly missed by all. Friends may call at THE KOLODIY-LAZUTA FUNERAL HOME, 5677 STATE RD., PARMA, TUESDAY 2-4 AND 6-8 P.M. PARASTAS 7 P.M. Funeral Service Wednesday, May 22 at St. Vladimir Ukrainian Orthodox Cathedral at 9:30 a.m. (PLEASE MEET AT CATHEDRAL). Interment Brooklyn Heights Cemetery
