Hildegard J. Bubna

Hildegard J. Bubna (nee Schnietz) age 93, passed away peacefully on January 7, 2020. Beloved wife of 62 years to Peter (deceased); dear mother of Walter (Uliana – deceased) and Marianne van Lier (Frank); cherished grandmother of Katie, Annmarie, Elizabeth and Michael Bubna, Christina (William) van Lier Miller and Peter van Lier; great grandmother of Mackenzie Miller; survived by two sisters in Germany, Else and Christel. Hilda’s retirement years were kept busy with six grandchildren. Many summer walks to get ice cream, “Parmatown” mall, complete with picnics on the lawn and traveling. She was a constant cheerleader for the grandkids’ many activities: swimming, Ukrainian dancing (Kashtan), basketball, hockey and soccer to name just a few. She loved her flower garden and taking pictures of the grandchildren amongst the blooms. She enjoyed cooking many traditional Ukrainian and German dishes for holiday feasts.

Friends may call at the KOLODIY-LAZUTA FUNERAL HOME, 5677 STATE RD., PARMA, FRIDAY 4-7 P.M. PARASTAS 6 P.M. Funeral Liturgy Saturday, January 11 at St. Josaphat Ukrainian Catholic Cathedral at 10:30 a.m. (PLEASE MEET AT CATHEDRAL). Interment St. Andrew Cemetery. The family suggests memorial contributions to the American Heart Association.
