JOHN M. KOVAL SR. age 90, passed away February 21, 2013. Beloved husband of Helen (nee Maresko); loving father of Barbara Hulsmann (Thomas), Helen Marie Hark (James), John M. Jr. (Lisa), Christine Maykut (Dennis), Diane Macuga (James) and James L. (Mary); devoted grandfather of 17; dear brother of the following deceased: Mary Shwetz (John), Michael, Anne Koval, Stephanie Kardamis (Nicholas) and Katherine Khoma and brother-in-law of John Khoma and George Tulisiak; uncle of many nieces and nephews. Mr. Koval retired after 33 years in the savings and loan industry. He was a Catholic Big Brother; Knight of Columbus 3rd and 4th degree, Archbishop Hoban Assembly 1407; St. Pius X Council; Holy Family Parma Council; American Legion; Holy Family Holy Name Society; Altar man; Eucharistic Ministry and the Senior Club. Mr. Koval was a Veteran of both WWII and the Korean Crisis. Friends may call at THE KOLODIY-LAZUTA FUNERAL HOME, 5677 STATE RD., PARMA, SUNDAY 2-4 & 6-9 P.M. Prayer Service Monday February 25 at the funeral home at 9:15 a.m. followed by the Mass of Christian Burial at Holy Family Catholic Church (York Rd., Parma) at 10 a.m. Interment Tuesday, February 26 at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery (Rittman, OH) at 10 a.m.
