Maria Kunasz Jurkiw

MARIA KUNASZ JURKIW (nee Mudrak) age 97, passed away May 9, 2017. Beloved wife of the late Mychajlo; loving mother of Ihor Kunasz (Zenovia) and Zenon Jurkiw (Vera); cherished grandmother of Markian Kunasz (Rebecca), Marta Hill (John) and Adrian, Stephen and Mykola Jurkiw; great grandmother of Melania, Halyna and Cyprian Kunasz; dearest sister, aunt and great-aunt of her extended family in Canada and Ukraine. Born in the village of Zhulyn, Western Ukraine, Maria traveled to France on a work contract in 1937. WWII caused her to stay in France until 1958 when the whole family immigrated to the United States. She was an active member of the Ukrainian Women’s League 33rd Branch and strong supporter of the St. Josaphat Ukrainian Catholic Cathedral in Parma, OH.

Friends may call at the KOLODIY-LAZUTA FUNERAL HOME, 5677 STATE RD., PARMA, FRIDAY 4-7 P.M. PARASTAS 6 P.M. Funeral Liturgy Saturday, May 13 at St. Josaphat Ukrainian Catholic Cathedral at 10:30 a.m. (PLEASE MEET AT CATHEDRAL). Interment St. Andrew Cemetery.
