Mathew Lobas

MATHEW LOBAS age 92, passed away peacefully Saturday, May 30, 2020. Beloved husband of Olga (nee Smolarchuk) for 70 years; loving father of Mathew (Lynn) and Alexandra (V. Rev. Gregory Safchuk); cherished grandfather of Mathew C. Lobas, Nathanial G., Benjamin G. and Alexander G. Safchuk; great-grandfather of two; dear son of Harry and Anna Lobas (both deceased); dearest brother of Mary Ann Macek and the following deceased: Andrew, George, Harry and Peter. US Navy Veteran of Seabees in Okinawa. Member of Pulaski Post 30 PLAV, Jacubic Post 572, VFW 1974, Seabees X9 and past National Commander of The Polish Legions of American Veteran’s. Mat worked for The Illuminating Co. for over 37 years. Mat was a spiritual man and his creed was to serve God, country and his family. He will be deeply missed by his family, friends and all who knew him.


Funeral Service will be Tuesday, June 2, 2020 at 10:00 a.m. at Holy Trinity Orthodox Church, 6822 Broadview Rd., Parma, OH. Fr. Alexander Garklavs will officiate. Donations may be made in Mat’s name to Holy Trinity Orthodox Church or Holy Family Hospice. Interment St. Theodosius Cemetery.
