Vera Kossak {nee Jasko} passed away Thursday, March 20, 2025.
Loving Mother of Lida Parc {Peter}, Nadia Boyeas {Jim}, Luba Platt {Richard deceased}, Eugene Kossak {Patricia}. Dear Grandmother of Christina Herick {Chris}, Anastasia Parc, James Boyeas {Dana}, Natalia Parc, Peter Parc, Alexandra Platt Horvath {Ryan}, Eugene Kossak, Eric Platt {Michelle}, Joseph Kossak, Samuel Platt {Crosby}. Great Grandmother of Ellaina, Everly, William, Griffin, and Mabel.
Vera was born May 12, 1932, in Ukraine, Poltavska Oblast, Hadyach. After WWII her family was relocated to Schleissheim, Germany where she studied English and earned her seamstress Certification in Ingolstadt. As a young adult she was a member of the Plast Ukrainian Scouts Oraganization.
In 1949 her father Fedir, Mother Anastasia and Vera immigrated to Philadelphia, Pa. ultimately choosing to settle in Cleveland, Ohio. She was a seamstress at Joseph & Feiss Co. and then Kirkwood until 1954 when she met and married Ewhen Kossak and devoted her life to raising her family.
She enjoyed sharing her talent and passion for music by participating in multiple choirs and ensembles. One of her fondest memories was of the Mid 60’s when she performed in a “Ukrainian operetta” under the direction of maestro Barnych and the Taras Shevchenko Choir. She was a member of “DNIPRO” and a Faithful member of Saint Peter and Paul UCC Choir and Saint Andrew UCC. Vichnaya Pamyat / Eternal Memory
Family and Friends are Invited to a visitation on Monday, March 24, 2025 from 10:00 am – 11:00 am at Saint Andrew Ukrainian Catholic Church 7700 Hoertz Rd. Parma, Ohio 44134. Funeral Liturgy will be held at 11:00 am. Interment Saint Andrew Ukrainian Catholic Cemetery.
In Lieu of flowers, Donations may be made to Saint Andrew Ukrainian Catholic Church.
